Good morning team,
We get it twisted sometimes.
We think if we’re tired, uninspired, or frustrated, we must’ve lost the passion. That the fire’s gone.
But grit—the stuff that gets you through the day when you don’t want to do it—isn’t the same as passion. Passion is loud. Grit is quiet. Passion gets you started. Grit gets you finished.
That’s been my lesson this week. I haven’t felt on fire. I’ve felt... responsible. For my health. For my training. For my people. For my goals.
And somehow, that’s more powerful than being “inspired.”
In The Art of Impossible, Steven Kotler writes:
“Grit is the persistence to pursue the long-term goal, despite all obstacles, setbacks, and plateaus... Passion fuels your grit, but grit is what gets you through the grind.”
Off-seasons are TOUGH. Kids are on summer break, you don’t get to the gym, you’re making 13,000 meals and can’t seem to find a moment for yourself. Or…are you disguising a larger problem? Are you making excuses?
Don’t get me wrong, summers as a parent are HARD but, is there a pocket of time for yourself? Can you make it a group activity? I’m not pointing at you, rather sharing with you exactly the questions I’m asking myself.
The only question I leave you with is, how bad do you want it?
Training Insight: Build for the Long Haul
Grit isn’t a feeling—it’s a pattern.
If you’re starting over again, ask yourself:
Do I have a repeatable routine?
Do I know what I’m training for?
Do I have to rely on motivation... or is my day already set up to win?
Start small. Commit to a 3-day rhythm: strength, sweat, learn.
Build momentum, not perfection.
Workout of the Week: Body + Grit
4 Rounds for Time (or 20 min cap):
20 Jump Rope
15 Goblet Squats (25–50 lb)
10 Burpees
20s Wall Sit
Optional Finisher: 2-min Bike Sprint or 400m Run

I’m finally opening the waitlist for 1:1 coaching. Whether you’re postpartum, performance-driven, or just want someone in your corner—you’ll get custom guidance and consistency.
But here’s the thing: Not everyone needs 1:1 accountability. So I’ll be launching new tiers soon for hybrid programs, templates, and more. For now? Just sign up here and let me know what kind of support you’re craving.
Ask yourself: “What do you really need from your training right now?”
No pressure. Just connection.
